Consultation
The successful completion of any remodeling project relies heavily on a realistic budget. As you start your journey from old space to new, your experiences and financial constraints will determine how you proceed. We are all dazzled by commercials, websites, and television shows that tell us we can have the best for the least amount and then have it completed in days. Unfortunately, the reality is that the project will most likely cost more and take longer than you are led to believe. SJG Craftsmen Corp. is keenly aware of these traps. However, through our consultation, we can guide you through a process that fits product and labor costs into a realistic time frame.

Our consultation process begins with a discussion of your “wish list” and proposed budget. Following a site visit, we can determine if your budget is realistic or not. We will present a suggested budget range of costs based on information we have to date. Our process also includes helping with product choices, presentation of a projected schedule, and securing permits. Our goal is to keep your project on track in both timeframe and budget.
Design
The design process will vary with the scope of the work. Larger projects such as additions or unattached structures such as garages will require an architect and possibly an engineer. Smaller spaces such as kitchens and baths usually only require an interior designer.

In all designed projects we will present options for review and comment. The initial presentation will be concept drawings that incorporate the owners “wish list” along with our design input. Following the owner’s lead and comments, we then start refining the design. Subsequent drawings will include detailed floor plans, elevations, lighting and electrical layout. If products are involved, we will guide you through the many options that can enhance your space while keeping you on budget.

Once you have approved the design, final costs will be presented for construction and products.
